Privacy Policy

Desert Wind Coffee Roasters (“Desert Wind,” “we,” “us”) runs this website so you can find our coffee, our hours and our shop. This policy explains what information is involved when you visit, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • We don’t run ads, analytics or tracking on this site.
  • We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information.
  • The only cookies come from Google, and only if the map on our Contact page loads.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you call, email or message us, we receive whatever you choose to share — like your name, phone number or question — and use it only to respond.

Technical information. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic request data — your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — to keep the site secure and running. We don’t use these logs to identify you.

Cookies and third-party services

Our site doesn’t set its own tracking cookies. A few features come from other companies, which handle data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Maps — the map on our Contact page. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies.
  • Google Fonts — delivers the typefaces on this site. Google receives your IP address so it can send the font files.
  • Google reviews and directions — links to our reviews and Google Business Profile open on Google’s own site.

How we use information

To answer your questions and look after you in the shop, to keep this website secure and working, and to meet our legal obligations. That’s it.

How we share information

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help run this website (such as our web host), when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our customers, our team or our business.

Your choices

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.
  • Ask us what personal information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.

Do Not Track

We don’t track visitors over time or across other websites, so there’s nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. The site works the same either way.

Nevada residents

Nevada law lets residents ask website operators not to sell certain personal information. We don’t sell personal information, but you’re welcome to make a request using the contact details below, and we’ll honor it.

Children’s privacy

This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, let us know and we’ll delete it.

Keeping information safe

We use reasonable safeguards, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection for this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

About the information here

Our coffee lineup, hours and gift shelves change often — sometimes weekly. We work to keep this site accurate, but everything on it is general information and may change without notice. If you’re making a special trip, give us a call first.

Purchases

This website doesn’t sell anything directly. Purchases happen in our shop and follow the prices and policies posted there.

Tasting notes and allergens

Tasting notes like “chocolate,” “toasted almond” or “caramel” describe how a coffee tastes — they aren’t added ingredients. Our drinks and pastries may contain or come into contact with milk, tree nuts, wheat, soy, eggs and other allergens, so please ask our team before ordering if you have an allergy.

Our content

The Desert Wind name, logo and badge, and the photos, video and text on this site, belong to Desert Wind Coffee Roasters or are used with permission. Please don’t copy, change or reuse them without our written permission. Sharing a link to our site is always welcome.

Using the site

Please don’t misuse this website — for example, by trying to gain unauthorized access, interfering with how it runs, introducing malicious code, or using it for anything unlawful.

Links to other sites

We link to services like Google Maps and Google reviews for your convenience. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices; their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to find our coffee, our hours and our front door — online and in person. We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

What we’ve done

  • Everything works with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link comes first, and the control you’re on is always clearly outlined.
  • Text and controls meet WCAG color-contrast minimums, including the text over our home-page video.
  • Images have text alternatives, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Each page uses clear headings, landmarks and labels, so screen readers can move around easily.
  • The home-page video can be paused, and animation is turned down if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Our custom pointer switches off when your device asks for reduced motion or more contrast, so your own pointer settings stay in charge.
  • Pages reflow for phones and zoom to 400% without losing content.

Known limitations

The map on our Contact page is provided by Google and may not work well with every assistive technology. Our address, phone number and hours are always listed as text on the same page.
